Make sure all entries check in at registration for final line up and information. Please email or bring a copy of your insurance for all vehicles in the parade. If you have not paid your entry fee, please do so at registration or contact Holly Cousens ahead of the parade.

The deadline to apply to participate in this year’s parade is September 11th.

Parade Rules, Terms & Agreements

Yakima Sunfair Parade
Hosted by the Yakima Sunfair Festival Association

1. Assumption of Risk

The Participant acknowledges that participation in the Yakima Sunfair Parade involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to bodily injury, accidents, illness, vehicle related incidents, and damage to personal or public property. The Participant voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation in the parade and related activities.

2. Release of Liability

The Participant agrees to release, discharge, and hold harmless the Yakima Sunfair Festival Association, the City of Yakima, parade officials, volunteers, employees, sponsors, agents, representatives, and other parade participants from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to participation in the parade event, including but not limited to personal injury, illness, property damage, or any other loss, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

3. Indemnification

The Participant agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Yakima Sunfair Festival Association, its officers, volunteers, employees, sponsors, agents, representatives, and affiliates against any and all claims, actions, lawsuits, damages, or expenses, including attorney fees, arising from the Participant’s actions, conduct, vehicle, float, or participation during the parade, including but not limited to claims involving personal injury, death, or property damage.

4. Compliance with Parade Rules

The Participant agrees to comply with all parade rules, safety requirements, and instructions provided by the Yakima Sunfair Festival Association, Parade Officials, and event staff.

The Participant understands that failure to comply with parade rules or directions may result in disqualification, removal from the parade route, and possible exclusion from future events.

5. Medical Authorization

In the event of an injury, accident, or medical emergency, the Participant authorizes parade officials and emergency personnel to seek and obtain appropriate medical care if necessary.

The Participant understands that they are responsible for any medical expenses incurred as a result of participation in the parade.

6. Media Release

The Participant grants permission to the Yakima Sunfair Festival Association to use photographs, video recordings, names, likenesses, and images of participants and entries for promotional, advertising, social media, website, broadcast, and public relations purposes related to the parade and future community events.

7. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington.

8. Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
